Ask the trusting holders of Enron, Tyco and World Com stock who believed what they were told by selfish Board of Directors, if their life is a living hell right now.

The Swamis (cynics) of the world would be the first to tear down the corporate facade if they saw it, while the faithful (sheep) would throw rocks at them.

I'd take one or stone throws if it would rip apart a greedy corporation... but ask me to take on a mob of rock-wielding slaves... nah, I'd rather not be martyred. Besides, any lessons learned from my life would only be turned into dogma and used against people like myself. I'd rather just throw in a monkeywrench when nobody's lookin'.

Trust is a wonderful thing. Without it I think people would be a lot less happy. As I have said before, I trust everyone unless I find them to be "untrustable".

There is a delicate balance here...I think you have to trust people because if you don't them there is a world of mistrust...but you do have to protect yourself. I think if the "trusting holders of Enron" would have opened there eyes a bit more they would have realised that Enron had not been trustworthy in the past, and hence met them with an appropriate ammount of skeptisim.

However, if there is a 100 people in aroom and I have found 99 of them to lie to me, I am not going to assume the 100th one is a liar...judge each person as an individual, do not mistrust people because of Enron.

Also, IMO being "faithful" is not the same as being a herded sheep.

You raise an interesting discussion Swami, and for that I thank you.
