Holy shit! I almost got in a fight

I just went for a bike ride.  In my state a bike is legally a vehicle and it must be ridden on the street.  I do my best to stay on the side of the road and obey the rules of the road in general.  But, at least once a day I get people yelling "Get off the road!" at me and oftentimes they say much more insulting things.  When I ride on the sidewalk I have people yell at me to get off the sidewalk (even though I am not getting anywhere near any sidewalk pedestrians).  You just can't win if you are a bicyclist.

Anyway, I was riding along and this van honked at me and they screamed something at me.  I had my headphones on so I didn't make it out 100% but I thought some guy said, "Get on the sidewalk dumbass".  I yelled back, "Fuck you bitch".  That's when the shit hit the fan.

The van pulls over.  This black dude gets out and says, "What was that!".  I say, "You yell at me I'll give it right back at you".  It went back and forth like that.  It got a little tense.  The light turned green and the guy's crew was saying, "Come on, let's go!".  He got back in and inexplicably yelled, "Justin Timberlake!" at me.  I don't think that I look like Justin Timberlake at all and if I did I would take it as a compliment because I get the impression that he is pretty sexy.  :shrug:

i get yelled at by motorists all the time

if you're riding in the city, get a can of spray paint, when someone pisses you off, put a stripe down the side of their car and ride away

You should've kicked his ass. :smile: I'm not much for fighting, though. I don't much want to waste my time swinging punches back and forth at an idiot too stupid to compose a sentence with fuck in it less than six times. So I just take mop them up real quick and don't waste my time. A nice brachial stun to the neck is my favorite. Or if you're feeling like leaving them deaf for awhile, an ear clap is a great solution. Drops them and makes 'em flop like a fish every time. :smile:

The guy was about 6 foot 215 pounds.  I would have put up a fight but in the end I would have probably had the piss beaten out of me.  Also, I was alone whereas he had three of his buddies with him.  If the shit hit the fan it would not have been pretty for me.  But, I'll fight.  :shrug:  I don't give a shit.

Note to self:  Don't leave the gun at home.  Have it on me at all times.

You're supposed to ride on the street in my city too, but I won't ride down busy streets. It's just too dangerous; motorists don't give a shit. I just use the sidewalk anyway and give pedestrians a huge berth. If they tell me to get off the sidewalk I just say "call the cops."

I respect guys on bikes if they have their helmets on...you're the smartest local travelers...not putting poison in the air!

Not fighting someone with back-up who looks like the dude you described shows that your helmet is protecting quality brains....road rage can leave you in a puddle of your own blood man...w/o exaggeration!

Sure, you might have a good "line" to answer back but keeping quiet in the face of a verbal affront is rewarding all by itself.... I'm challenged like that. yea, so theres this skatepark near my house and it takes like 20 minutes of speed skating to getthere via small streets.  so im always skating on the side of the road, cuz on the sidewalk theres all these bumps and cracks, and its so much smoother on the road.  I always have cars and pedestrians scream at me saying shit like "GETT OFF THE ROAD" blahblahblah. 

anyways, i normally wear a helmet when im skating on the road if its a big street or a busy time of day, but when its empty, who cares right?  I usually just tell to go fuck themselves, none of them have really stopped like that van in the first post, but one guy slowed down, some asian dude with a hitler moustache and his wife (pretty sure she had a moustache too).  and he was saying all this incromprehensible shit to me and my friend, who was with me at the time, and he was going right beside us.  so im like fuck this, 100% sober, pop up my skateboard, i have it in my hand, and the guys yelling something like you better not hit my car.  i wasnt even thinking of hitting his car XD i was gonna go on the sidewalk, but he just starts yelling shit so i hit the side of his oldsmobile with griptape side of my deck a couple times and theres a bunch of scratches, he STOPS.  so im like oh shit, i thought he would pussy out and drive away.  so me and my friend run away and jump this fence into some random backyard.  then we light up :rastamon:  ~~~~
