Piercings!

In a few days, I'll be piercing myself a bit, but I wanted any tips you had to offer, and if it would be easy to acquire actual piercings needles that way I don't have to use make shift needles?

My friend is helping me, and she's done it many times before successfully...so what is the point of going to a place?

And surface piercings around here run about 40 a piece. So yes, that's quite a chunk of cash.

Whats the point of going to a place? what you should be asking is whats the point of doing it yourself? what risks are involved? you could hit a nerve and you can also get a really bad infection. i would never pierce myself! you should really get it done professionaly....

I've had friends who said they could give haircuts ... LOL @ THAT! I ended up with a lawnmower-head ...

I'd be careful, especially if you're piercing strange areas or thick skin ... you also need to remember the sanitization rule, because if you get an infection in your piercing, you'll be really depressed for a long time, and you'll have to take it out anyway. guaranteed.

and from personal experience, getting my lip pierced is the only pain I've ever had that I nearly blacked out from.

surface piercings have a tendency to reject if not done properly. if you want something done that bad i'd suggest getting it done professionally. it's not too much, and sometimes you can talk the piercer down in price if you have your own jewlery.

i would adivse on getting it done professinaly..

buy good jewlery, the cheap stuff isnt worth it, saline is your best friend through out the healing prosses, also if its any oral percing use a non-alcholic mouth wash(very important!!) and sea salt soaks are also great, get a plate and a napkin pour some saline or sea salt water mix, nuke it for a few secs in the microwave and apply to the percing.

most places your paying for the jewlery, not the actual percing its self.....

you still pay a little bit for the piercing itself but it's always a hell of a lot cheaper if you have your own jewelry.

You passed out?!? I got mine a few weeks ago, and I barely felt it! The variety of people's reactions is pretty interesting.

From the research that I've done, you become a piercer through an apprenticeship...so if I know somebody who has been doing it for a few years that is really good enough for me. It would be a different story if the piercing was my tongue, neck, genitalia, etc...

Yeah, I already bought some jewelry, I just need to pick up some needles.

err.. i'm a guy and had my lip pierced no problem. hell, the anxiety leading up to it was worse than the actual piercing. unfortunately i only had it for like a month or so before it was knocked out playing rugby.

I was so very nervous! I had people holding my hand, my eyes shut tight and I was cringing, then it just went through, and it was over. I've heard people say that their septums didn't hurt at all...that just seems crazy!

Tiny Rabid Birds: good lord!!! Did it rip your lip, or did it just kind of fall out?

i had my medusa periced once upon a time, that fucken hurt! didnt pass out tho..

you should be fine as long as your not using a dirty needle, or worse yet, safety pins!!
