It kind of looks like the shrooms grafted to each other from touching. The caps is what's odd looking here. The stems being split like that looks pretty much normal.

I wouldn't worry about it, they're PFs, and prone to shapshifting. Actually, I always thought the PF strain was kind of cool the way it grows into so many wierd shapes.

Workman would probably know with more assurance than most of us...but with repeated appearances like that it would most likely be either genetic or from exposure to certain chemicals. But the ones that I have seen associated with chemicals didn't repeat like that. So my vote is that this is just a genetic expression. Workman you out there? They Look cool, bet they are very potent too...let us know :wink:

Don't worry. They are fine. There are photos of the exact same phenomena occuring with P. Cubensis in Stamet's The Mushroom Cultivator. It isn't anything to worry about, it's common (sorta). Just a chance thing.

I know I've already mentioned in the other "mutant" post that my PFs did this exact same thing, but it's interesting to note that on my first flush I got 3 "mutant" shrooms from 5 cakes... on the second flush,though, each cake had at least 10 of them. Both flushes produced the same in terms of yield.

Yeah, I wasn't worried about them being 'bad' or anything, it's just that I'd never seen it happen before...and that it was ALL of them.
