An adventure into the rainforest.
    #6973837 - 05/27/07 02:23 PM (16 years, 8 months ago)

I say we get like 10 people together and travel to a rainforest in the US to build a small commune. We'll live off the land, have fresh water from a local waterfall, river. We'll bring enough food to last us for months, in the meantime growing our own food.

Now wouldn't that be a great spiritual journey?

I'm Down! Who's COMING WITH ME!?

Peace,
Droz

I'm in. Where are there rainforests in the U.S. though?

I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I can't seem to find a link to any in the US. There are great rivers and waterfalls though.

We'd have to travel to South America most likely. The Amazon!

If your looking for people to drink the Kool-Aid they should be pretty easy to find. The Shroomery should be fertile ground for finding cult followers, but now to find a charismatic leader might be a problem...

A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

The Pacific Northwest is a temperate rainforest, fyi. It's also friggin' beautiful, and already full of hippie wierdos living off the land

We need someone large and imposing of mature age with piercing eyes and with a shamanic background - and who would look good in a cape or robe.

*drums fingers* Now who would that be?

Ha I totally see you dressed up like a Mongol priest warrior or some shit.
:rofl2:

Green silk robes, a flowing Chinese moustache, slicked down hair, and dark sunglasses.... a huge sword.... :smirk:

I lean towards Viking decor usually, but I have been wanting to wear devil horns as part of having an important title for some time now.

Are you more likely to aspire towards being Odin, or Thor?

Odin of course...the lord of hosts and the god of death... Living in a house with a resident standing army is a good plus as well. Thor was a bit stupid and I tend towards sneaky craftiness.

Besides, I'm the moderator. I think, however, that this would be the perfect reality show. Take everyone in P&S and put them on a huge, deserted tropical island. Kick back and observe what ensues. It'd be quite the drama. :bongload:

I know where I'd be. :smirk:

Yes Thor certainly had a lot of misadventures, no doubt due to his association with Loki. :smirk: Yes let's go to some distant halls and dispense with some giants.

Damn near killed that fucking world serpent, too. He was fucking determined, holy shit.

Odin was the shaman. He has quite the aura about himself. Odin is definitely one of the best gods out there.
