Weening off Heroin to Poppy tea to nothing...

So I did it to myself. 2 months now of daily H use. About a pill ($20) a day, smoked.

I quit cold turkey from a 2 week old daily habit and I didn't like that experience one little bit. This time I want to ween off, especially since it's been 2 months.

Anyway, here's the plan:

Days 1 and 2: Cut H daily intake in half, to 1/2 pill per day.

Days 3, 4, and 5: Cut daily H intake to 1/3 pill per day.

Days 6 and 7: Change opiates from H to Pod tea. (Here's where I'm unsure of how much the dosage should be, but just enough to ease the sickness, and it's supposed to be also a step down from the 1/3 pill of H a day, however much that is in tea.)

Days 8 and 9: Cut pod tea intake by half of whatever the dosage of days 6 and 7 ends up being.

Day 10: Discontinue opiate use completely.

So, first of all, do you think my plan is a solid plan? Next, how do you think I should determine the dosage of tea to use? I figure kicking tea will be a lot easier than H, especially since the dose of tea will be small as possible days 6-9.

This is the end of day 1, so far so good.

Has anyone ever done this? Weened down on the H, then switched from H to poppy tea and then kicked the tea habit at the end? Any helpful comments and suggestions certainly are welcome. Thanks.

This sounds like a good plan as long as you are familiar with dosing poppy pods and are deturmined to quit. Such a long withdrawl could temp you to relapse. Alternatively for days 6-10 you could just take a tiny hit before bed to help you sleep or maybe during the day to help you eat because both of these will make you feel tons better.

I'd say to start at @ 5 or 6 pods. Be sure to smash them to ratship in a blender. Don't boil the water as that will take away some of the potency. Throw some lime juice over the crushed poppy pods(in the tea pot by this time i am assuming) It also helps to eat a grapefruit @ a half hour B4 drinking the tea as this will potentiate the morphine/codeine alkaloids. I really wish you luck man, i know opiates can be a bitch to get off of :yesnod:

I've never had to wean myself off a heavy opiate man so i really don't know to much about it,i just know a little bit about consuming poppy pod tea but i don't even do that anymore

I kicked cold turkey, through a high dose of LSD, and a whole bunch of other variables/elements (music fest in the middle of nowhere, beautiful people, etc, etc).

I had weaned myself down from a bundle a day habit to 1/2-2 bags a day, due to having blown so much money that that was all I could afford.  I wish you much luck with your battle brother, and anytime you need to talk, feel free to hit me up.
