How many highschools are there in the US?

in 1947 there were 115,000 school districts in the US, that means there must have been more schools right?

There have to be by 2007 at least 1,000,000 highschools in the US right?

Here's a list of high schools I found. I'm guessing from this list that it's about 2500. I'm not sure if they're counting charter, k-12, etc
