Ahhhhh.... Poppy tea.... (and a story about my history with opiates)
    #6934620 -

Auto-Summary
The author shares a personal account of their experiences with various opioid medications, including prescription painkillers and street-bought pills, as well as poppy tea. They started using opiates at 17, initially with cold-water extractions and ASA/codeine pills, but soon moved on to prescription medications like T-3s and Percocet, which they found highly effective for pain relief and euphoria. However, their reliance on these medications led to a series of unfortunate events, including a sports injury that required surgery and multiple hospitalizations. During their recovery, they were exposed to fentanyl and hydromorphone, which provided intense euphoria and pain relief. After a stint of using these medications, the author turned to poppy tea, which they found to be a safer and more enjoyable alternative for managing chronic pain. They now consume poppy tea regularly, citing its effectiveness in providing a sense of relaxation and euphoria.

Just chillin' here on a good dose of Poppy tea.  Took it about 20 minutes ago on an empty stomach and already feelin' the groove

At 17g powder, this will be my highest dose to date.

Since I am here, I am going to type some more.  Opium makes me feel like writing.  (don't feel like you have to read this, I just felt like telling my story)

I first got into opiates when I was 17.  Started with cold water extractions on ASA/codeine pills, and didn't really dig that too much, always made my stomach cramp.  The high was nice and comfortable, but even on higher doses it was still a mild high. Then I got a prescription for some T 3's and really liked taking 4 or 5 of those.  Did that a few times and realized that I really didn't like codeine.  I still did it occasionally for the next 3 years, getting some wherever I could (never stole them).

Then when I was 21, I had to have surgery to get all my wisdom teeth out.  The doctor was pretty damn cool.  He said to me before he put me under "So when were done, I am going to send you home with a  prescription for percocet.  The bottle says take 1 as needed, but you will be alright with 3 or 4 at a time.  We just want you to be comfortable."  He said that when I was done with that, just phone him, and he would call the pharmacy and order another prescription.

I had never heard of percocet before so I was kind of pissed that he didn't give me T 3's.  Well...  I obviously don't have to tell you how happy I was when I actually took a couple.  It was amazing!  I just sat there, watching movies all day, nodding on oxy.  Oh how wonderful.  I ended up going through all 20 pills (5mg each, under the brand name oxycocet) in 2 days.  "No worries" I thought, "I can get some more".

I called the doctor, and he said that for the next one he was going to give me T 3's, enough to last another 7 days and to make the transition off the oxy a little easier.

"DAMN!!"  I was kind of pissed because the whole time I thought I was going to be getting more oxy's.

"Oh well I can get some off the internet..." so I thought.  I spent a good 4 hour looking and looking in vein for a place to get some more.  After a couple days, I finally gave up my search and just accepted the fact that I would not get these wonderful little pills anymore.

Anyways, a couple of years later, I was in London Ontario visiting a buddy of mine from high school and lo and behold his roommate had like 40 oxy's. He didn't want to trade for any acid (I had lots ) as he had already bought a ten strip.  But he said he would sell them to me for $2 a piece.  I bought 3, and while chilling out at his house while he was at work, took them and just chilled a watched movies all day. I absolutely loved it.  So relaxing, and even better with a bottle of wine, and a bowl (I know, drinking is not the best thing to do on oxys).  I just chilled all day, then went to visit 4 girls I met when visiting a tree planting camp.

The following year, at first signs of grass, I went to play a game of football with some friends.  During like the second play, I recovered a fumble and ran towards the end zone with the full knowledge that I would be getting a touch down.  Well, I jumped into the air, and WHAM!  I knew right away that I had broken it.  How bad I had no idea (I am still on crutches a year later, after 2 re-constructive surgeries, 2 plates, 9 screws, and 2 big ass scars). But while I was laying on the field waiting for the ambulance, all I could think of was how high I was going to be for the next few days.  The adrenalin was really pumping, and the pain was excruciating, yet I didn't care.

I get to the hospital, and it takes them 4 goddamn hours before they give me anything.  At this point I was in horrible pain.  The adrenalin rush I had experienced was gone, and I was nauseous because of the pain.  Eventually, I was taken to a room, and given an IV shot of morphine (3mg's).  A couple hours later, I was taken to my own private room because that was the only bed they had available.  As soon as I got into the bed, the nurse comes in with another shot of morphine (IM this time, 10mg's).  Ahhhh....  This is great.  10 minutes later she came back and said that I would be OK for another 5mg IM.  So here I am in La-La land, and then I find out that I have to have surgery.

I spent the night, getting 15mg's IM morphine every 4 hours.  It was awesome.  I was constantly nodding in and out, watching the TV I had in my room.  I kept getting a shot of morphine every 4 hours until the time of my surgery.  They wheeled my bed to the OR, and transferred me over to the operating table.  I chatted a bit with the doctor, then noticed that he grabbed a rather large looking syringe that he said was to sedate me.  I look at it, and in big bold letters, it had the word "FENTANYL" written on the side.  I had heard of this, and at that moment, I had a sense of overwhelming excitement at what was to come.  He stuck the needle in my IV and put the whole shot in.  It was quite large, bigger than any 10cc syringe I have seen, but I am not sure how much, nor what else there was in there.  Right when he pulled out the needle, I waited a minute and said "That didn't do any thhhiiiinnnnng"  Holy hell I am High!  It was the biggest rush I have ever felt in my entire life.  Just pure euphoric bliss swept over me like a wave.  I don't remember anything after that, but when I woke up I was back in my room, and had a "Pain Pump" as they called it running through my IV, which was a bag of Hydromorphone set up to give me a small shot every time I pushed the button (up to once every 5 minutes).  I absolutely loved this.  I kept pushing the button, and more and more I submitted to the wonderful high.

After 2 days on this (no actual sleep, just frequent nod sessions) they put me back on 10mg morphine IM every 4 hours.  This went on for another 2 days.  I had mentioned to the nurses that I had great success using Percocet in the past, and requested that they give me a prescription for that. The doctor would have none of that!  Out of all the doctors in the hospital, I get stuck with the only one who absolutely refuses to prescribe percocet.  I kept trying by saying that T 3's didn't do anything but make me itchy, so instead, he gave me this little pill, I forget the name (when I remember I will post it), but it sucked.  within 15 minutes of taking it, I started tripping out.  I was hallucinating hardcore, but it was incredibly scary and uncomfortable.  When I informed the nurse about this, she mentioned that 1 out of 10 people experience a reaction in which hallucinations can occur.  Anyways, soon after they just gave me another shot of morphine, and that was that.  The next day, I got out with a T 3 prescription, happy to even have that.

Fast forward 10 months, and I had to go in for surgery again.  I got the same big ass fentanyl shot, and the same pain pump as before.  After 2 days, I was out again.  This time however, I had become close to the doctor (due to seeing him every 2 to 3 weeks for 10 months), and just accepted the T3 prescription without a fuss.  I knew however that I had the option of either Percocet through a friend, or Poppy tea which I had been reading a lot about. After posting the question Poppies or Pills (see    this thread), I decided to go with the pods.  Ever since, I have been enjoying a cup or two of poppy tea every week to escape the pain.

The second surgery was a success, and now 3 months later, the bone is finally healed enough to start putting weight back on it.  (I fractured the fibula in 5 places, the bottom of my tibia snapped off, all the ligaments were torn, I dislocated the ankle, popped off the cartilage, and blew the fibula and tibia apart).

And finally, last week, a buddy of mine gave me a 40mg oxycontin.  I ended up dividing it up too much, and barely got high off it.  The pain relief was good, so it worked like I wanted it too, but just a slight amount of euphoria.

And now here I am, now very high on the poppy tea I took.  I guess its been about an hour now, and I am feeling great!  Time to nod off to a movie

Anyways, thanks for reading this far.  Just thought I'd share.

 Peace

Yeah, I landed on a bump in the ground that caused me to roll my ankle.  From there everything just got fucked.  :frown:
