At what temperature do the actives in poppy pods break down?

When making pod putty its nessacery to boil the heads.

I'm womdering if theres any loss of actives in this process or do the actives break down at temperatures higher than 100 degrees?

I wouldn't worry, morphine is pretty stable.

Poppies are easy to grow then I hear, if someone just chucked a few seeds down they would most likely grow?

Has anyone tried smoking pod putty? I heard its best ingested but is there an effect if you smoke loads of it? Or is the smoke way too harsh?

M is only somewhat soluable in water... But cooking and straining will work.

I think it would be a bit more effective yes. But not much.

This is what I would do:
The best thing would probably be to add slaked lime though(watch the pH), this will convert the morphine to calcium morphenate which is very water soluable. Then after straining the liquid add lemon juice untill the liquid is around pH7.

By using a pressure cooker or autoclave. I believe you can heat water to 121C at 15psi. I wouldn't think that would be warranted for this purpose, though.
