i have read parts of it i found it on my friends shelf while enjoying some salvia
it was beautiful to look at each page is a work art the way it opens to the side and seems to fit effortlessly into your hands it is i think the most comfortable book i have ever read
i dont think i was "changed" most of what i read was comfortably similar to my own philosophy but it did make me reconsider my view of books stagnant western books approached as words and stories rather than art and ideas
read it

has anyone read BE HERE NOW & not been changed?
alpert/ram dass' story of transformation is prototypical western seeker (we are lucky he is so articulate )
the art of steven durkee & the lama foundation crew, with each page of artwork & typesetting being the result of one day's group focus, is amazing
the cookbook for a sacred life section is filled with good advice and powerful quotes
and the recommended reading list(s) are enough to keep any reading seeker supplied with food for intellectual and spiritual digestion for many years...

Listen to gnrm23, he's as ancient as I am and so is his wisdom I've recently met a Viet Nam veteran who even keeps a copy in his car. I've got two vintage copies ($3.33) - one in the computer/meditation room, the other in the library (but the Truth is written upon my heart!)

I'm about 3/4 through this book and I see what you mean. Several times he talks about the bible being completely true. Yet he warships a guru in India and believes the guru can create miracles. The book is no doubt entertaining, however I have a hard time swallowing most of it.
