Do you smoke MJ to a point where you cough all the time?

yeh so I smoke on a daily basis and I usually always cough because I probably always take in more smoke than I can handle. It's a damn habit I can't get rid of. Last year I got a pretty bad lung sickness, Don't want that to happen again. Right now I just woke up and I feel like my lungs are going to cave in. It doesn't really hurt but it bothers me more than if it were a painful feeling. does anyone here do this or is it just me? I guess I gotta start taking mini hits.

I over hit all the time, Cough like a beast too, Never had any problems with my chest hurting or anything, Just lots of phlem haha

yeh I always have phlem attacks in the morning. I wonder if there is a possibility that the bronchitis I had last summer never went away. I feel like it's coming back. Think I gotta drop the mercial and get some mids so my smoke intake is less. Good to know I'm not the only habitual cougher. Like they always say if you cough your deff high!

Make weed tea and be rid of it.

The coughing ain't healthy. The worst thing about pot is that people smoke it. Benign as THC may be to many people, you simply shouldnt be smoking any resinous herbs.

Smoke = bad, even if that smoke used to be weed.

you two haven't been smoking long enough.


after years of smoking, nothing makes me cough, unless i have a cold or something. my lungs have lost their cilia and don't cough for smoke.

it'll happen to you too.

I'm pretty good at not coughing. I'm far from a regular smoker too (Either don't have time, or I have to worry about drug testing for jobs), but when I do smoke I just take in the smoke slow. It doesn't really matter for me because I get stoned off of a few hits of just about anything. My advise to you is to invest in a good vaporizer and be done with coughing and lung problems all together. I don't know from personel experience but I've read that it conserves weed and tends to be a better high.

I agree, or maybe your lungs are especially sensitive.  I don't smoke much now, but when I did I could take MONSTER hits all day long without coughing - although I would have some occasional lung aches.  WS is right though - there really aren't any redeeming qualities of smoking anything, once something burns it is toxic.  oh well.:ohwell:

When my chest really started to hurt - that's when I stopped smoking altogether.

I loved smoking MJ, did heavily from the age of 18 to 27, but I reached saturation point four years ago, my lungs felt like shit and I've only once smoked a couple of joints since.

I ultimately valued my health over getting high. I feel happy everytime I breath REALLY DEEPLY these days, seems I stopped just in time before I truly wrecked my lungs.

I was an incredibly heavy pot smoker though - it pretty much ruled my life.

I was a pretty hardcore smoker too. The plus side for me was that ganj gave me energy and made me want to do really physical stuff biking, hiking etc. I had a 7 mile bike commute to work every morning along the river in portland that was blissful with a few bong hits before I left the house. All the fresh air & exertion seemed to set off the immediate ill effects of smoking.

Rylmonkey & all: if you haven't tried it before, Breathe Deep herbal tea by Yogi tea is really good for opening up the lungs & tastes awesome. Try it with honey. If you can't find it there are other herbal tea brands that promote better breathing also.

I thought so too, but over the years after quitting I noticed a tendency towards the asthmatic and at times breathing is a bit noisy.

The cancer you may have caused in 2000 may only show itself in 2015-2030 so you and I aren't out of the woods yet.

But to quit definitely is sooo much better than to keep on at it.

At the height of my smoking addictions I smoked 1.5 grams of high quality indoor pot combined with 50 grams of tobacco - every single day.

My God was I addicted. My God did it feel bad :sad:

Many potsmokers smoke out of habit, instead of their own free will. Because somehow, not lighting up again doesnt feel right.

Cheery stuff, but long term the odds are in our favour for quitting, or at least better than they could be.

It's funny because I quit by becoming addicted to the idea of never smoking ever again.

I been smoking a pack a day for five years and blunts and the like for 12.  My hits have gotten smaller over the years.  No hacking huge nasty things.  But sometimes i cought up a little booger of resin.  No yellow green shit though.  I get a small smokers caugh by the end of the day somedays though when i smoke to much.  Just like an itchy throat caugh. 

If it's really good weed i caugh and sneeze a lot. :ohwell:

I find my morning bowl helps me to clean my lungs out... I sit on my back porch, weather permitting, and toke a bowl along with a morning cig. Inbetween hits, I inhale deeply focusing all my energy to the back of my lungs, hold my breath for a second, then force an exhale that brings up some phlem and most likely the dead cells that I believe become cancerous if left in there.

I stretch, focus and listen to the birds... I'm late to work everyday, but my morning ritual helps me, so fuck em. But I find MJ smoke 'helps' me greatly... now if I can quit the cigarettes!! They feel bad, but I haven't found the power to quit just yet.

BTW, I try to use my Volcano as much as possible, but the morning smoke has some lung cleaning benefit IMO. :shrug:

A derrrrr... Cancer IS cells that should have died, but don't. They keep on growing despite being mutated and cause tumors. THC encourages these cells to die off when they should and be spat out instead of clinging onto a mutated life and making tumors in my lungs.
