So they started me off with DSL and all was good. Then I got my first bill and saw a $30 charge for "bandwidth usage". Apparently, though I wasn't told, Bell had placed a cap on their ultra high speed.

They put a cap on of 60 GB per month, up and downstream traffic!

My usage for the month: 176.78 GB

Well I was ready to cancel my internet and go with a different company who offered unlimited internet (though with a higher latency...) but I was going to wait till month end to do so. Then I check this month...and there isn't a charge!

My usage for the month: 266.31 GB :smirk:

I'm now apparently on bells unadvertised, unknown to their "techs", unlimited service! I figure they give this service to their high-usage customers so we don't cancel our subscription.

My company doesn't charge for usage. My company sucks (Comcast- worst customer service in history) but at least they dont' charge for usage.

I'm pretty happy with Bell. The only reason I was mad at them (and rightly so!) was because they didn't tell me about their cap.

I always get speeds of 4000-4500 kbps down, and 650-700 kbps up.

I'm just glad I'm a smart cookie..if I had to deal with their Indian "tech" agents....

I'm being fucked over by my ISP.
Between 11am and 11pm my bittorrent downloads are blocked.
I get bad latency. They don't get back to your complaints... instead EVERY time you've made a complaint.. they wait a week or 2, send out an email saying "as you have not replied since.... we deem this issue closed' Bastards. I've complained 10 or 12 times to them.
And you can never get in touch with them unless you call a premium rate number to India where they can't make out what your saying and you can't make out what they are saying. Then they say it'll be fixed by tomorrow.. it never is. Never.

Bastards are called 'Tiscali' a total cowboy company.

Is the internet so new that companies feel they can fuck over the customer and they can't do anything about it because all the other companies suck too? Now, they're combined with the cable and phone companies, and they are just plain awful.

Comcast is a big company, how come they don't have enough money to make their customer service better? The thing is... they do. They just would rather up their paychecks by that much more. It really is some bullshit.
