roommates

i'm up again. i haven't had a decent night's sleep in forever. i don't know what possessed me to live with these fuckers. well anyway. i won't get into the boring details, but i've grown to loathe these pigs. i decided to stop picking up after them and the apartment is a total shit hole. there are beer bottles everywhere. rotting food everywhere. sweet and sour sauce dried and stuck to about 7 plates laying around the living room from their microwave egg rolls. that shit is a bitch to clean. the trash can is full and overflowing. there's ooze dripping down the wall next to it. they sleep all day and wake up at midnight and keep me up all night. more or less apathetic to my pleas/threats. the electric bill lapsed and is over 200$ now, how ever will they get the money when the banks don't accommodate their waking schedule????? both of them are pathetic bottom feeders. they do nothing. they survive solely off of their parent's generosity. i've thought many times about how fun it would be to get rid of them. I can't wait to move into my new apartment all by my fucking self.

I'm sorry. Hope you get your new place soon though. Roommates hardly ever seen to work out. Get that electricity bill paid though...

I assume you've tried tossing every mess of your roommates' into their respective rooms.

Get your own place. It's worth paying way more rent to have a place entirely controlled and maintained by yourself.

1 in 20 roommates is cool. I've been in a similar place as have countless others. Have had my own place for a while now and I couldn't recommend it more. Though I'm saddened by the fact that one day I will probably have to have a roommate again for a period of time.

It's strange. Some people who you are friends with, you can get along well if you live together. Then, there are some friendships that are ruined because it is not possible to be civil in a shared living environment. I think it boils down to respect.

I hate my roommates as well. They are quite the opposite of the problem you are having though. They are straight edge self absorbed assholes.

That's too bad. Roomate problems really suck, trust me, I know. Of course mine aren't as fucking filthy as yours, but at least one of them is pretty disrespectful of my requests for her to respect the standards we set before she moved in. She thinks my desire to have the place vacuumed once a month, and the washroom done once a week is 'sterile' and that mess represents life. Ugh. I wish the great roomates I used to have, and used to underappreciate, were still here. I'm getting out of here, I just can't figure out the best plan of action. In the past I certainly haven't been the tidiest of people, but there is definitly a line that should never be crossed.

I sure hope that bill isn't in your name. If not, you're doing fine! Good luck with your new place, it'll be a vast improvement.

Your post makes me think I have spent way, way too much time being angry at tiny things about my roommates. I wish I could help. It seems that the best way to approach it would be to stop yelling or getting upset about each individual thing. Take them aside, away from the TV and all distractions, and calmly discuss your issues with them; allow them to know that mutual respect is needed for the living arrangement to work. It is important that you create a sort of landmark conversation; constant nagging just becomes part of the routine. Just take them aside, preferrably one at a time, and explain the extent of your feelings and frustrations.
