These are older I think, except the last one. I would have posted in the "post your art here" thread but it destroyed my puny modem. If you can't tell what it is, I couldn't either. Everything in 3D Studio Max w/ no plugins, except the last which was rendered in Mental Ray.

Mushrooms? I did some Amanitas last year, just dug them up from CD. They could be better though, maybe I'll do something weird tonight. Anyway, here's some more stuff I found on the CD.
(feel free to use that one liberally in OTD)
Well, looks like I hit my upload limit for the day, if I get motivated to do any new mushrooms tonight I'll upload them tomorrow.

These are all incredible. I liked the mushroom and flintstones MDMA the best. I can't even imagine how you came up with the preceeding images.
One question, what does it say on top of the MDMA box? I see the word "fucking" in red lettering.

guitarguy: I got started in 3D back in high school, probably around when I was 13-14 or so. Back then all I had was a 486/33, and a copy of POVRay. For those not famililar with PovRay, you basically have to write a script file containing the 3D objects you want, their locations in space, lights, textures, etc... Like programming the scene. I remember it took somewhere around 14 hours for each 640x480 render. I learned it by looking at the scene files of others and the readme that came with it. This was before our area even had internet providers, so everything I had was downloaded from a local BBS (I miss those).
Our area got an internet provider, blazing 33.6k, around the time Max 1.0 was released. I knew I wanted it, so I scoured the net until I found some guy willing to trade a copy of Ultimate DOOM for it. The version I got didn't have the help files, so I just taught myself as I went along. I never liked Lightwave much, too hard to get anything done. Don't worry if your first renderings aren't good... they shouldn't be. It takes a long time to learn these programs, but there are plenty of good books available on them. If you've got broadband, my advice would be to grab a copy of Maya 4 personal learning edition from this page. Alias/Wavefront is giving it away to students now, got tired of Piracy I guess. I'm pretty sure it comes with some in-depth tutorials to get you started.
If you'd rather use Max 4, PM me and we'll arrange something. Max has less of a learning curve, but I think once you learn one program its harder to switch to another, which is why I recommend Maya.
Its amazing how far computers have come, I went from that 486 to a PPro 200, to a Dual PII 400, to the current Dual Athlon MP 1600+. Went from 640x480 renderings in 14 hours to full frame 4096x3185 iMax in around 30 seconds.
Anyway what I'm rambling about is, keep trying. I still think most of the stuff I posted sucks compared to a lot of what I've seen on the net.

Here's a copy of the texture from the top of the Box. This was back in my ETard days, some time before I became addicted to the shit and quit doing it entirely. Thank god I got out of that one when I did... In fact, I was probably on it when I made this.
