Subterranean Shroomies

So anyway, went on a road trip to visit someone, and today decided to go take a stroll through an old abandoned mine shaft. Long story short, about 1800 feet into the shaft, and 400 feet from the surface, there were shrooms popping up out of the timbers used to support the shaft, as well as growing out of the mineral deposits from the coal veins. Anyway, my jackass self forgot a camera, and didn't have any way to protect the little guys if i had harvested, but just wanted to share the story. It was also wierd, cuz it was about 45 degrees or so in the shaft, not warm at all. I don't know enough about hunting to identify, will try and go back tomorrow and take pics.

oh my fucking god, forgive me, but that was fucking STUIPD, unless it was a mine tour of some sort.

abandoned mines, are very very dangerous, most times the air alone will kill you. as there is barely no ventelation toxic gasses can build up and suffocate you faster than you can run back out...

also those things are not stable at all....... please be reallly fucking careful and dont go back in there......

well, near the end, mostly rocks and dirt, probably the reason they closed the mine

Nah, it was a coal mine, and it was a tour, the mine is shored back up with new timbers every year to keep it from collapsing, thanks for the concern though, it's nice to know you still care :blush:  They stopped mining because it no longer was economically feasible to mine in the manner that they were using, but the coal (including the largest vein in the world) are still there, and still very fruitful.  Anywho, I just thought it was wierd to see shrooms growing out of a rock face in a low light, 45 degree environment.  They sure were pretty tho...
