i don't think its a joke, there is a serious lack of shroomy-ness on the shroomery, although i've avoided using that expression.

shroomyness is that feeling of wonder and other worldly-ness you get when you take shrooms and you're not a total asshole.

According to Shroomydan, shroominess is all about fascism. We didn't think and act like him so we weren't shroomy enough, that's fascism in a nut shell.

So if you're a fascist hippie who believes that everyone must think and act the same then shroominess is for you.

O.k. leme explaine this the best i can in my non shroomy state;)
All these evil drugs must be clouding my mind.

Shroomy dan left saying that the shroomery wasn't "shroomy" any more. This has been the butt of many jokes.
Shroomy dan was under the impression that anybody who used "hard" drugs was automaticly a bad person. His enlightened views from the mushrooms, and his contributions made him, and his opinions better than everyone who wasn't on the same "enlightened" level.
He wasn't bad guy. I met, and spent time hanging out with this guy. He just got into a bad place due to some traumitizing events brought on by people on these boards. Some guy killed himself in front of him at a shroomery gathering who was withdrawing from Heroin. This put him over the edge and he thought that people were trying to kill him and all sorts of other crazy bullshit.

Well guess what. This board is a representation of the world as whole. They'r are good people, and bad, and all shades in between. As a mushroom website we actract a whole range of drug users. NOT just mushroom users.
There are some very bad negative people on this website, and there are those who act as such, because well that is there style and how they choose to enjoy the internet. Its otd, and anyone who takes all that stuff seriously, and lets it get under there skin is not cut out for the internet.
I don't like a lot of these guys either, but i remember why i'm here. The great people i'v talked to over the years. The shining souls. The people i'v met at the gatherings. The good ones.

Just because you are a hippie, and have been "enlightened" by mushrooms does not make you or your opinion any more valid than any one elses.
To look down on people based on they'r drugs of choice, and not by there actions is the hight of hipocrocy for a drug user.

Kimbo, i thought you were a real cool guy when we hung out. But after reading through your elitest hippie stuff i'm beggining to change my opinion of you.
I think your losing your 5 shroom rating. It breaks my heart because i consider you a friend. But i can't overlook you looking down on me for my drugs of choice, and not my actions.
I hope we can meet again, hang out, and bury the hatchet, and i can realize that your a cool guy and your views are misguided. Untill than you'v lost a lot of my respect.

I'm high on Heroin, xanax, alcohol, and tobaco. Tell me. Does this make me a bad person?

To paraphrase George Orwell from his all-too classic, and prescient, novel, "1984," it's about the well-polished, jack-boot of arbitrary morality stepping on your face forever...

I hate to say it, because it's true, but the far-left is just as fascistic as the far right; the only difference is their specific agendas. Both the right and the left believe, in their soul, and in their very marrow, that they have the supreme right to dictate to all of us, because they are superior to the rest of us low, and debased, immoral and stupid fucks... :frown:

Hillary in '80! Oh yeah, hit me baby... :frown:

PS: And if you believe any of these politico-fucktards, then I have a bridge I'd like to sell you... for cheap...

i don't have much problem with people using other drugs, i myself was a huge fan of dxm (and have only given it up due to the inevitable tolerance issues).
however my drug use has always focused on transcending the many mundane repetitious moments that seem to make up alot of life and reaching those points of power, knowledge and beauty that infuse me with feelings of truely living life up to its potential.
i don't think drugs are the only path to that, or even a good path in the long term, but drugs are good for the temporary suspension of normalcy that leaves just enough room for the intelligence of the universe to work its magic.
towards the end of my tripping, that was my only goal, to find those situations and people that filled me with the majesty of life.
perhaps our terminology is muddled here, i consider "enlightened" to mean having gained knowledge, which i feel people can do if they are true hearted in their searching regardless of path or lifestyle choice.
the act of consciously applying and reflecting that knowledge is what i was and i guess still am seeking though. its very noticeable when people do this i feel.

thats pretty much the path mushrooms and other things led me to, so thats what i consider shroomy. i've met enough like minded people to not think its just a personal sensation.

a little metaphor, if something is broken or not working well, and most people ignore it, its not fascism to say "well why don't we fix it" even if the reply from most people is "we like it that way".
personally i try to align myself with principles that will result in a life of health, happiness and knowledge for myself and others, because this is what the mushrooms and other drugs taught me is possible.

this is why i would agree that i'm elitist. its difficult enough having to overcome my upbringing and the force of inertia that my culture "holds me back" with.
i'd prefer to associate with people that are going to encourage and support me to live my life the way i want to, and in my dealings i'm going to discourage behavior which i feel would add more inertial weight against evolving to that point of health, happiness and knowledge, and i'm going to encourage behavior that has worked for me or other people.

so to sum up, thats what shroomy-ness means to me, i don't really mind if people do otherwise because i'm not trying to rid the world of "evil", just my life.
however, i do have certain expectations that when i come to the shroomery i will find people with similar principles given to them by the mushrooms, just like i do in real life.

edit: also don't call me a hippie. the closest label that would apply is i do feel kinship with the hare krishnas. other than that i feel that hippies tend to be too dumb to process the higher dimensional reverberations.

Mushrooms cant give you principles, principles are a human quality that can not be imparted by fungus.

They have a profound psychological effect on the human psyche. People tend to build lessons and interpretations around it. I do it all the time when high.

you're right, i wouldn't say the mushrooms gave me principles, but they did "open my eyes" enough to see that were better alternatives to what i had previously known.

stupid things like - eating mcdonalds is bad for you. yeah i knew that, but mushrooms actually visibly showed me that i had options and seemed to show me the consequences mcdonalds was having on me.
thats just a small example of what i mean.
