Cloning problems
    #6782467 -

My friend was given a large cutting of a "nebula" strain plant and tried but failed to divide it into smaller clones. He said he was very sterile and cut the branches dipped them in water then in rooting hormone and put them in jiffy peat pellets. He says they look dry and dead even though he mists them and that ones leafs have turned yellow and there are no roots yet. What is a better way to take clones?

Usually when i clone(rockwool with hormones), my plants get pretty near death it seems before they perk up and come back to life when those roots emerge. I would give it time. If you go aeroponics which only cost me literally 30 dollars to build for a 8 plant unit, and it roots my babes before they droop and turn colors...I LOVE AERO!!!

dip your cuttings into Wilt Pruf
place cuttings in a glass of water and change water everyday
  give cuttings indirect light
also make sure to trim the leaves so theres minimal leaf material.
once just to try it I just yanked a branch off a plant and rooted it in water.  it worked

go out and buy a cheap humidity dome. It's just a small plastic tray and a plastic dome that goes over top of it, wont cost more then 5 bucks. Before your cuttings root they need to draw the moisture from the air through their leaves, keeping them in a high RH environment gives them this moisture. All my cuttings root btwn 7+10 days and i don't use anything more then what you did.

Aero cloners are def a great way to go if you wanna drop some cash and put some effort into it. However to keep it easy on the wallet and your time just buy the humidity dome.

I agree. Humidity domes or anti-wilt are 2 of the best things you can do to prevent loss of clones.

And don't forget to dip or spray any new clones with insecticidal soap to prevent bringing bugs into your grow.

A dome with humidifiers hooked up worked great and no misting was needed. Ten day results with both plugs and cubes

Then there is aero 8 days later

Aero with gel and without

Now the gel or the rooting hormone does what it needs to do in seconds cause these machines wash off any gel you put on but as you can see the gel still works better so you should always put the end of the stem in the hormone or gel first or right away without going to he water first. :getstoned:
