You can use 1/2pint jars to hold agar in like a petri dish. If you get the small buy wide (salmon) 1/2pint jars they have more surface area to work with. I dont know much abot cloning using liquid cultures (i've always thought agar works better).

im trying cloning right now, still dont know if its gonna work yet, ill let ya know in a few days.
what i did was i took my biggest mushroom, cut the cap off, and put the stem in a 1.5 hydrogen poroxide mix and then put that into my blender, then i blended it up a bit untill it was just a foamy slurry and then i sucked it up into a syringe and inoculated pf jars... stil waiting for first signs of growth but i did it 20hr. ago....still too early to tell..

Cut a piece of tissue from inside the mushroom, dip in h202 and then place in a sterile solution of malt extract and water.

My friend, our Dynamic Spore-a-Nator will work for cloning. You simply fill it with sterile Agar/Water and then place the mushroom tissue through the laboratory access port, seal and store.
I hope this helps you with your research!
