Any Good Scales for under $40?

I see people say there are scales available for under $40 but I can't find any. Even on Ebay they're ranging over $40.

If I had a job I wouldn't care about paying full price, but I don't want to have to shell out a lot of cash right now but I do want a quality gram scale. Any suggestions?

Go to http://www.pawnshopper.net and then select MX Scales. They have them for 38 and 40 bucks.

i just ordered the MX120 scale from American Weigh for $38.95! its accurate to the 0.1g too, supposed to be here today actually..

they have digital postal scales at walmart for 19.99. they weight to the gram, oz, and kilo I belive but nothing under 1 gram

Are postal scales reliable for weighing food? Since I plan on dosing in even grams I don't mind if it doesn't weight out to the .1. Hmm...thanks for the tip...I'll check a few of those on the websites as well. I always thought postal scales were calibrated differently than gram scales...but I'm no scale expert. heh

I believe that for mushrooms you need to be able to weigh to the tenth of a gram. ( .10 ) For example, the scale that weighs in 1 gram increments might show 3 grams, but the .10 increment scale could show 3.95 for the same material.

I realize that...that's why I'm wondering if a small finger scale from the head shop would be better for the time being. The scale I WANT to buy is $80.00 and I still plan on buying it once I'm employed again...but til then I still have shrooms growing and I'll need to be able to gauge doses.

I'm heading over to the head shop now to check on their gram scales. I know they're not the best but I think I've read elsewhere that finger gram scales are accurate to the .25g which is cool enough for now. I'd love to find an all-purpose kitchen scale that could be calibrated down to the .1g...that would rock on all levels. hehe

The postal scal is not accurate for what you want Boppity! the +/- error in a scale that weighs in increments of 1.0 grams can be as much as .5 gram. use a scale taht measures in .1 gram increments!

Hey all!

Got back from the headshop...picked up a finger gram scale for $7 and it weighs up to 100g. It's accurate right now...he let me pick out a scale by testing it with a nickel and honestly for NOW...this will do until I get a new job. I don't plan on dosing more than 2 or 3 times once the fruits arrive...mainly preserve and put away for later...especially since I'm relocating soon. But I didn't want to not have at least a rough estimate of dosage. I will be buying a MW Palm Scale though for this and other hobbies.

Thanks again...I didn't think the postage ones would be worth it.

Thats what I use too. We call it a hangman scale. It has been with me for years. It was originaly purchased to weigh out weed and now it does my shrooms too. I would like to get a digital one though. Just have to save up some money, but it gets the job done for now.

Right on Killa. I don't mind if it's off by a little bit...I can handle a little more or a little less than the scale says...but the dude at the headshop said as long as I don't abuse it it should stay accurate for a while...depending on how much I use it...and at this rate it looks like I'll only need it for like a month.

You, or anybody, who is looking for a scale should check out My Weigh . Great selection! Has a link for all of the distributors that sell the scales online. Maybe not any for $40, but some are pretty close. I would also keep looking on EBAY... I got a triple beam balance (over 2500g capacity, accurate to .1g) for $54, with shipping!!!

Yeah I actually plan on buying one of their Palm Scale models...I just can't afford one right now (unemployed). The finger scale will suffice til I can buy a better one.

No don't get one from a head shop you can go to an auto parts store and get a carburater float scale for $12 these are accurate they have to be!!

Again...I'm not gonna keep the finger scale forever...I just need something to hold me over til I can afford a "real" scale.
