Yep, he's on ebay. I bought my first scale from him years ago, still using it to this day.

You'd be surprised. Kids can get decent scales! I weigh my shrooms using a plastic balance I still happened to have from my chemistry set (fond memories of a nerdly childhood). I've tested it with commonly known weights, a dollar bill does indeed weigh out at 1 gram, and a nickel is indeed just over 5 grams. That kind of accuracy is asking to get killed if used with RC's, but with mushies, it's quite suffcient. Better than the shitty kitchen scales that some dealers use, that are accurate only to within 2 or 3 grams!

Any bargain-priced solutions that are a decent temporary investment?

All of us would love to spend 60 or 70 dollars on a good scale that lasts, but sometimes you need something cheap real quick-like to tide you over.

Such as me, who will have to be weighing out crystal mescaline soon, and don't have a digital scale. I need to get one before I can give the stuff to anyone. I have to trust it to work long enough to do some dosages

There's nothing worse than a ghetto scale. As with anything in this hobby, spend the money outright and be done with it. I recommend a MyWeigh i500 from Old Will Knotts.

I'm wary of ebay scales. I get the feeling the cheap ones have been well used. And I doubt they come with a calibration mass.

I bought My ohaus off ebay for 40$ nib. It works great. american weighs are shity scales though they are all needing to be calibrated every use. they work fine but this scale would have been a better choice. and shit look at this price. http://cgi.ebay.com/MY-WEIGH-550-GRAM-DI...1QQcmdZViewItem

If you drop into the post office you can get cheap "letter scales". You get what you pay for, but they're pretty sensitive.

If price wasn't an issue we'd all just have analytical balances. Accurate to 0.0001g. I use them at least every other week in chem labs. If you damage one, you get a nifty 3 to 8 thousand dollars added to your tuition bill to cover cost of replacing it.

They work damn well though. Still accurate and everything, despite being so old that they say "Made in West Germany"

I got a shipping scale from Old Will. He has some killer prices and a really nice triple beam on his site for cheap.

For smaller amounts of mushies, I use a little Tanita I bought at a flea market for $20 a few years back. That thing works great.

I use a 1g-1Kg digital postal scale from office depot. 35 bucks.
Then again, it only has a 1 gram resolution. But that's good enough for me, I don't do or sell powders.

Cool, the ibalance101 is probably what i'm looking for.  I have a crappy scale that goes out to .001g.  it seems to just guess sometimes at weights when you get down to 20 mg or less.

Also, brass knuckles are cool

I havce a shitty little scale I got for $40 at some smokeshop. It's tiny, but with a bigger tray it works out fine. Any scale is fine as long as you can calibrate it IMHO, but those Will Knotts look like the shit for sure :box:
