The only game I've seen for Wii that I would even consider playing alone would be the new Zelda game. I think we might be arguing for the same thing here though, I definitely say go PS3 all the way.

My opinion, go for a 360, the price isn't to bad, xbox live is excellent, graphics are great. Its obvious. Ps3 is good but the price is ridiculous. Also just buy an external 120GB hard drive for the xbox if you need more space :smile:

wii = childrens games, social games etc. no big name series titles besides zelda
360 = great gfx, cheap, massive game selection (gta4 coming out soon!), good multitasker for watching divx, emus, networked media station, and online games that are kept patched
ps3 = great gfx too, free online play, but price is too high for console, games never get patched cause no $ incentive, less multitasking functionality. Great titles like gta4, socom 4

Explain your blasphemy. No $ incentive? Aren't games for PS3 and Xbox 360 priced about the same? And how is the multitasking functionality lessened?

Blu-ray! I'm sorry but games that are designed now don't require the amount of space a blu-ray disk provides. also the quality is basically the same as HD. its just an excuse so they will get people to pay an extra couple hundred on top.

Personally i think both consoles are good but paying a lot more money for something that isn't that great is pointless. if ps3 bought prices down it would be perfect.

i didnt say the games were priced differently, i said the ps3 console was more expensive. as for the multitasking, good luck finding a way to watch networked movies etc on a ps3. As for no $ incentive, dude i seen it happen on ps2. All the developers are concentrating on releasing new games and dont support older ones cause its not pay to play.

You raise some valid points. I personally can't afford either, but if money was no object I would go PS3 without a second thought.

Alright, some more points to consider. I don't care what the fuck else my console can do outside of playing games, because that's all I do on a console. My computer screen is the size of my TV screen and much clearer, so no reason to watch movies on my console.

I like playing games alone more often than not, unless it's like a Madden or FIFA, but Nintendo doesn't have those, so I'm thinking Wii is not really giving me much reason to buy it. XBox is still cheaper, and I can't stress enough how much the Halo series means to me. I may not be good, but I've been playing that game since Day 1, love it more than any game besides FIFA. So while I read everyone telling me PS3 or Wii, I'm still leaning towards XBox haha.

If you love Halo, I'd say get 360. You'd probably love Gears of War, too. It's a very fun game. :grin:

If you think the extra space isn't needed ask Insomniac games, Bethesda Softworks, etc. All 1st rate game development companies who love the extra space Blu-Ray provides.

And Eightball, the reason the PS2 had no patches or updates was the lack of a standard hard drive, not the inclusion of an overpriced network service.

Also Fifa 08 is cross platform. It is out on the Wii, PS2, PSP, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360.

For a second i wanted ps3, but then i saw all the games coming out for 360 that i wanted:

Gears of war
Devil may cry 4
Halo 3
Grand Theft auto 4
Mass effect
Too human
Crackdown

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I might need a wii at some point for smash brothers,mario,zelda and metroid though.
