Albert Einstein actually said that? Why in the world would he even think about bees going extinct? it doesn't seem like it was even an issue to consider back then.

The full quote is "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."

although i wonder as well whether our survival directly depends on theirs, one can also see this quote signaling a yellow light to us that ecosystems are very fragile and need to be respected and nurtured, rather than exploited and devastated.

yea they make a good food source but the bees can be replaced by other insects doing there jobs and at least prolong our life more than four years. I mean if the wasp population died, could u say the samething?.....probly so

well the wind and other insects take care of that for a large part. it's just that if bees in fact do go extinct at some point, then any plant species which has adapted itself to the bee will inevitably die at the hands of manvolution.

even though other insects pollinate as well, 90% is a huge huge huge motherfuckin' gap to fill.
