Einstein sez
    #4699510 -

Try not to be a man of success, but rather one of value.

--------------------
Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

 gotta love that one of the greatest scientific minds ever flat out refused to accept/understand theories of probability in quantum physics... shit, if he couldn't make sense of it, how can we expect the average Joe to?

That sounds familiar. Was that the metaphor they used in elegent universe or hyperspace or one of those books?

"true, god spends quality time at the craps table, but my legacy will forever live on many a filthy bathroom wall: E=mc^2, earth side for life!" - einstein at the 1st galactic conference on quantum interstellar travel, still jet lagged after being offered a courtesy round trip ride on some vogon ship at o.999998c to bring him into the future present year 2808.

in response, hawking stood up and yelled at the top of his speaker's lungs: "REPRESENT!" having just arrived via a short trip through a recently stabilized thorne(tm)-wormhole.

it was uncertain whether heisneberg will attend the conference or not and if he did, there was no way to determine what path he would take to get there!

Yeah. I believe it was Einstein who said it, but Kaku uses it in Hyperspace. I didn't read much of the Elegant Universe, so it might be in that one too.
