What strain?....Some strains won't pin invitro...

some of mine did'nt pin so i took one out of it's jar/glass to cut some mycelium off to make a syringe then put the cake back in it's glass and it started pining in 2 days so i took the rest out of there glasses for a few min and put them back and they all started in about 2 or 3 days too

How come it is necessary to let them pin in the jars before you birth them? I have only did two cakes before and both times I just took them out when they were 100% colognized and dunked them for 24 hours and birthed them. I started seeing pins in about 5-7 days and they grew pretty healthy.

It's not necessary to let them pin in the jars before you birth them. I think it just gives a better first flush.
