Going to Hawaii

I got the urge to save a bitch load of money and fly all the way down to hawaii to hunt the wonderous mushroom land, and live on a farm for something to do. In two weeks i leave and i know there are mycology books that identify all the hawaiian mushrooms, but i figured i could get the same info for free here.
I was just wondering if there are many forest species of the psychedelic muhsrooms. It seems like there should be. And also, does Muscaria grow down there? ive heard the yellow formosa var. does but is it even worth it?
One last thing. ill be in Kula Maui, does anyone have any experience in maui hunting that can lend me a hint? i was planning on just riding a bike around looking for fields but maybe if i get pointed in a direction first it will help.

I lived and picked on Maui. For data see my books at the MJ Shroom World SIte which lists Hawaiian locations and articles by me on Hawaii.
This site is not allowed to give specific locations.

A big ranch up on Kula Highway and Polipoli road up Kula Highway at the 3200 meter level but be careful. Locals grow pot on the mountain at times and you really do not want to be buried there.

Read the papers Mushrooms in Paradise: Hawaiian Style at the articles page at the site and you will get a few locations.

How goes it MJ. Mushroom John's site has loads of info, all that you will need. I don't know if you have been to Maui before, but it is amazing. Try to get involved with the local lifestyle, and stay away from the tourist aspect of the island, if you are going to live there as you say, congrats, I think that is a wonderful place to live, minus the outrageous prices on everything.

Yes John i have read your story of the hawaiin adventures many a times. And every time it makes me smile. Ill Re-reead it again and write some necessaries down i suppose. Thanks for the help.
