Yellow/Tan Stained Mycelium in casing Solved ?

I think I may have found the answer to why so many people using coir are experiencing yellow staining.
Just now I cooked some coir up to sterilize... anyways I strained it a lil bit when I was done and noticed the water was tinted tan/yellow/brown
I would assume by straining I removed alot of the excess water as well as natural color that was extracted into the water when cooked.
Could this be why mycelium stains? The mycelium pulls moisture from teh coir to the surface and when it does its pulling the color as well?
I have noticed in my other casing which I did not strain the water out of before casing the yellow staining is evident, but in my other casing which I did strain the excess water out of has no yellow...
maybe this is the answer

I just think its the moisture from misting that gets stained from the casing itself, not water thats being brought up through the mycelium.
It could aslo be the waste of the mycelium, but thats usually on the bottom not the top.

correct I thought so also... the misting I never thought about cause I use a humidifier.... but your prolly correct... either way I agree it must be staining from casing because the stain has no biological value, not contam, not a mold, very interesting, this I think should be researched more only because it is very likely someone could confuse this with contam.

Yep.
Its weird how casings even get contaminated. Ive actually never had that problem before....maybe its just the coir. I love coir so much. Just pasturize it for an hour and bam you're all good!
