Is it a bright bold yellow, or is it a pale whiteish yellow?

I can't say for sure in your case, but often yellow spots are caused by water that has pooled on the cake. It's harmless, and sometimes my best growth has come directly from those spots.

I too have just run into problems with yellow colored contamination spots. They are almost exactly the same color as this web page.

I figured I would give them a day or two and see what happened and they spred like a wild fire. Upon dumping the jars you could see the stuff disperse into to air, it looked like
a cloud of mustard gas.

Good Luck, Hollywood
