I had a friend as a kid who's dad was in the SCA and his basement was full of real, homemade armor, shields, swords.... and his dad would have friends over where they'd spar and re-enact battles. It was so weird being over his house but it was a lot of fun.

I used to get really bad migraines as a kid, and I remember once I went to an SCA event with his family. It was games all day then a big feast at night. I'm talking REAL FEAST. 9 course meal, had duck, lamb, shit I've always wanted to try and I got a migraine right before the feast and had to be driven home. I regret leaving SOOOO bad now.

That's sick......a fantasty of mine was always to be a lord in a medival fantasy like world (George R. R. Martins A Song of Ice & Fire) I love that stuff.

During a night of LSD consumption a friend & I found my old star wars shit and devised to plan to get fully accurate costumes (Chad Vader style) those nifty high quality lightsabers, and get really spun out and duel it out at night in the woods or a field somewhere.

I love 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' Dark Star. Excellant series, especially the first 3 books.

The series gets longer and longer...like it was supposed to be a trilogy, then I heard '5 books' and now I'm hearing that he MAY be able to resolve everything in 7. I sometimes go to the GRRM forums and they discuss that there.

I didn't care for book 4 as much, actually. It seemed pretty redundant. I got 3/4 through the book, being kinda bored, and then the last 1/4 exploded in action. So I'm hoping the next one is gripping.

p.s.

Is the LNC chat usually that quiet? I see people in there and suspect they may all be chatting privately but then again, I'm never in there so I don't know what to expect.
