Natural Gas vs. Propane vs. Electric
    #6716619 -

Alright in my house I have a natural gas stove/range that I do my PCing on. The only problem is that I have a microwave right above it so I can only use 2 of the 4 grill sections. I also have an electric hot plate that I've tried using before. The thing is the electric hot plate takes for ever just to heat up the PC to 15 psi. My question is... Would using a little propane grill be just a sufficent as a natural gas stove/range meaning the time it takes to PC everything or do you think it would take a lot more time as in which the flames are disributed evenly and not directly under the PC like on a stove/range.

I had the exact same situation for a while, I think. I'm guessing you want to run multiple PCs because you seem to want to run more than just the two burners from what I can tell. I also tried the little hot plate - those things are just not made for big AA pressure cookers, even if you raise the PC just so, using bricks or whatever.

Eventually I just bought some turkey fryers at K-Wal-Targ-Lowes-Depot-Mart for around $30+ (sometimes they sell them for $70, but between all those stores, someone always has it on sale...). The turkey fryers are great. I just plug them into a tank of propane and let it rip. Once it's at pressure, it will stay there with just the littlest flames IME. I also was using the toggle valve kind of AA and not the weight valve for the steam release, so I had to monitor them a little more than when I used to use the weights, but like anything, practice makes perfect.

How many PC's do you want to run at once?
And, how big are they?
If you want to run 2 AA 941's at once.
Find, buy & hook up
one of these cast iron burners to your existing gas line.

They run around $129 for a 2 burner.
About $79 for a single burner.
