I was just reading this month's GQ and there's a whole article about it. it looks retarded.

You people havn't got a clue.

Well done you've come up with the same cliche response that everybody has "oh its for people who don't have a life".

You don't even realise that the exact same thing was said about computers when they were first invented and then again when the internet was invented.

This virtual world stuff is the begining of a new era. Before long this stuff will be HUGE, mark my words. The implications are immense - virtual offices, virtual supermarkets the list goes on.

One of the best games made yet (Grand Theft Auto) is essentially a very similar idea - A virtual world - that you can do whatever you want in.

I don't care either way but I can see how narrow minded the thinking here is.

I downloaded it when I herd about it. Spent about 5 minutes walking around with a fat character dancing naked in front of people, then un-installed it.

It's just a new form of communication. I agree it will go huge. It is actually pretty fun to waste time playing. You can get all high and shit, and drink or do drugs. You can create things also, and look how ever you want to look.
PS3 is putting out "Home" that will have amazing graphics and more technology.
Oh not to mention you can go to concerts and party's with sick music and chill with people. Beats chat rooms by far. You can expressive yourself far better.

It's about networking, and creating, and having fun. You can fly and have all sorts of shit. It's like grand theft auto except everyone is a real person and of course you don't kill them. I think its fun.

Moreover, Linden Lab objects to any implication that it would employ lawyers incapable of distinguishing such obvious parody. Indeed, any competent attorney is well aware that the outcome of sending a cease-and-desist letter regarding a parody is only to draw more attention to such parody, and to invite public scorn and ridicule of the humor-impaired legal counsel. Linden Lab is well-known for having strict hiring standards, including a requirement for having a sense of humor, from which our lawyers receive no exception.

It's cool in concept, but in reality is full of furfags and pixel-yuppies. I played it, got myself an AK47 that launches people several hundred feet in the opposite direction. Ruined people's shit, then quit playing.

Also, it lags and everything is ridiculously ugly and over-commercial.
