amazing band,best 60s revivalist band since the 60s in my opinion
Anton Newcombe is a fucking genius all of the songs are timeless
they made a movie about them and the Dandy Warhol's called dig!
anyone else share the love?

I love Brian Jonestown Massacre's music....but the band members themselves are douchebags.

I wouldnt consider anton a douchebag, from what I know of him (only the movie) hes just on a completly different level than everyone else, as for the other band members there have been so many in and out
Peter Hayes seems like a nice guy, and he started black rebel motorcycle club which is a great band

Okay well I have been at bars when Anton started stupid fights, I've seen him try and light my friends face on fire with his lighter. "On a different level" doesn't excuse anyone from not being a fucking obnoxious asshole. He's brilliant, but he's an asshole.

you definitely have a point....yea seen footage of him do completely stupid acts ie kick a guys face and try to take over the band while on stage as well as other stuff
seems pretty instable but whatever
I would love to see them live, I just got into them like a year and half ago so there has been no chance

They tour pretty regularly, I would definitely suggest it...they are so drone-y that they play for like 2 and a half hrs.

ahah thats awesome...yea all the people who have seen them have said its quite the unexpected experience one way or another
they were supposed to play at lollapalooza this previous summer but they ended up not

YEah they will either play for a long time, or half an hour into it Anton will attack the guitarist and kick him off stage and out of the band. :lol:

My friend is the lead singer of a somewhat-defunct band that toured on the West Coast a few years back.  This guy was really bad into coke and going kinda crazy and he worshipped the ground Anton walked on. THey ended up opening for BJM @ the Roxy in L.A. one night and after the show this guy, my friend, was totally blown and decided he wanted to see what Anton would do if he kissed him - so he just grabs Anton and rams his tongue into his mouth.

Anton freaked the fuck out and beat his ass. :lol:
