Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow
    #6671408 -

Fantastic.
Beautiful.
One of my favorite albums of its kind.
Timeless.
Great album to go to sleep too.
Or to cheer you up for any reason.
Just love it.

Its a great album. I lost my virginity to a playlist composed of Iron and Wine and Devendra banhart.

There he goes...
One of God's own prototypes.
A high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.
Too weird to live and too rare to die.

I saw him in last year at Pitchfork Music Festival. Him and his little group put on a pretty good show.

yeah. nino rojo and rejoicing in the hands were albums more focused on him and his guitar. while cripple crow is his venture into produced music with a band. though he plays most of the instruments, i believe.

if you liked nino rojo, youll love this album. i dunno. i think he sounds great with more music behind him.

...they'd still be Chinese children... [Re: plexus]

Cripple Crow indicates that Devendra Banhart is one of the best singer songwriters around. He just keeps getting better and better!

i agree... he has a lot to grow from.
i dont know how much he struggles with songwriting, but it would seem to come easy to him.
just the creativity in his music, when theres not a lot of difference in style.

by that i mean, he can make a whole album of just acoustic guitar songwriting, and keep each song special.
his guitar fingerpicking is very creative in itself.
just... when i listen closely, its as characteristic and unique as his vocal stylings. his unique alternating timing in his picking is like his unique vibrato in is voice. if you can see where im getting that comparison.
nothing new, sure. but its new in context with popular music our age.

i find his music very inspiring.
i just hope it comes as easy to him as it sounds so that he can continue to grow and make amazing albums i can feed off of.

plus hes just such a positive vibe.
id love to just sit and jam with him on acoustics.
