movie, music, and book recommendations
    #6648297 -

just thought Id share what I'm into right now...
movie: the science of sleep directed by Michael gondry, great movie he cant differentiate between dream and sleep, awesome use of colors, and that type of animation (dont know what you call it) looks like claymation but its not.
music: just got back into fisherspooner...great for anyone whole loves/likes any kind of electronic music. very intelligently made, vocals are great, they fit in so naturally. I would recommend their latest CD Odyssey, the last track is more than trippy
books: just finished the archaic revival by Terrance Mckenna, pretty good, personally I liked breaking open the head by Daniel pinchbeck more

what are you guys digging lately?

What did you think of that whole Pinchbeck talk we went to?

I liked that one woman and the guy that reminded me of a young Larry the cable guy.

The Larry the cable guy guy was the best! My neighbor is friends with someone that lives in that commune!

Pinchbeck was a snooooooooze

well after reading both authors writings i prefer pinchbecks writing style personally more stimulating, some of mckennas theories are a little to far out and the writing seems just too factual at some points for me, but some points he makes really opened my eyes
however pinchbeck does seem at times like a yuppy traveling the world via trustfund

i seem to watch the same movies all the time, but i can never get tired of natural born killers, hah.
as for music, lately i've been groovin to jefferson airplane a lot, and fugazi. fischerspooner is awesome!
the list of books i need to read grows daily, the doors of perception by aldous huxley is quite intriguing.
has anyone read/heard of the holographic universe? just wonderin

could always comeback to fugazi...
i believe i have hear references to the book holographic universe but do not know much info on it, finished doors of perception like a month ago. I really feel like I need to go back and read it again to get more out of it, but that will have to wait because I just bought hells angels by hunter Thompson and really excited to read it
i plan on renting natural born killers next time i have the chance, thanks for the recommend

Music: I've been on a real The Velvet Underground kick lately

Book: Thomas Pynchon's Against the Day, which I could literally read forever, and it seems that's how long it'll take me anyway
