Storming!!
    #6625088 -

Man, it is storming like crazy, here! 8 high school kids in south Alabama got killed by a tornado, earlier today. Now, it's hitting here. We're going to have some washouts in the side of Red Mountain, again. Crazy shit! All of the counties around us are under tornado warning. I'm surprised that we still have power. It's nice to watch and listen to the rain and thunder, though. Time to pack a bowl and enjoy mother nature's majesty.

:stoned:

i really am glad you came back to us instead of taking the other path. *hug*

Blizzard conditions here. I called in (was suspossed to be at work at 1 pm). The storm has been disappointing me but I just stepped out the back door and it looks like it is snowing a lot more. The winds are there for a great blizzard but the damned snow just isn't materializing.

I'm hoping I can get out of work tomorrow morning as well. Can't really afford to but oh fucking well, you know?

Yeah, I know. I could have picked up somebody's shift tonight, but I heard it was going to storm and decided to stay home.

Mr420, where are you at? I am in Birmingham and was just wondering if you were in or around this area, or if it's just a coincidence. I know that storms happen in other places, at the same time.

It's all quiet, now. It's kind of cool the way storms blow through and scour the land before moving on. It's like a cleansing of sorts. I like it!

My family and friends in Iowa are buried under ice and snow. Lots of people in rural areas without power.

Yeah, I consider myself lucky. The temperature dropped 18 degrees in 30 minutes, though. It was a nice storm, really, but nothing like the blizzards! I've yet to be in a blizzard. It's something that I have always wanted to experience.

Blizzards are fun when you have plenty of food and uniterrupted electricity at your home. You can tell your job that you can't make it in.... and when every highway in the state is covered with ice you have a damn good excuse. And when you're a kid and school is cancelled cuz of snow you can have a blast playing outside.

It's not so fun when you're without power and huddling in the dark with candles, eating your refrigerated food before it goes bad.... Or your car goes off the road in the middle of nowhere and you're trying to stay warm until a tow truck can rescue you. Then blizzards kinda suck.

the "im snowed in" excuse doesnt work for me, i live three blocks from work

fortunately i only work one day a week

thus far, my electricity has remained intact, and grass and fight night round three have kept me sane

I can see that it would definitely suck, in those circumstances. I was just thinking like being out in the middle of nowhere, in a cabin with a well stocked pantry and plenty of firewood for the winter. A sexy girl that couldn't talk would be nice, too.;)
