Read the fine print, and read it well.
By posting a work there, it in essence becomes their property which even includes marketing your work, wholly or even altered, without notifying or paying you. You can argue that these are good people, but I don't know them well enough, I do know there has been sudden banning of staff members and such, so that may change at any time. Any true art site will by defaut state that copyright is yours and yours alone, but DA in the small print has a contract that by submitting your works, they can be taken from you just like that.

It would not be an overstatement to say that if DA decided to suddenly take ownership of all those works, it would be the greatest art robbery of all time, as there might be a milion works archived there, all under that sneaky contract.

i don't get your question. are you trying to imply/question that because i stopped using deviant art that my art career has gone down the drain?

I can understand that deviant might suck for reasons suggested,, so is there an alternative.
