Mushrooms and stomach problems * 1
    #657177 - 06/01/02 08:03 AM (22 years, 11 months ago)

I'de like to know if anyone has problems with their stomach like cramps or upset. Now I'm not talking about that short lived upset that you get shortly after ingestion, what I'm talking about occures several hours into the trip and can really bring you down. Does this happen to anyone else and if so does anyone have any tips about hwo to handle it.

Thanks

well, this is a slight departure from what you're asking about. but i have a friend who's brother did shrooms every week for 3 years. and now he has really bad stomach problems. sucks don't it?

Really...I wonder if it's directly related to the shrooms

hey guys i know the stomache cramp thing it definately sucks but i also have my own way of getting rid of it. this is what i do when in need to get those cramps gone, first of all if the cramps accure durring the first hr. or so you can't do much but wait now if they accure within hrs. of tripping then you can smoke some green which always works for me an also take amodium the stuff for up set stomaches an the shits. that an the lovely green god will work wonders an you will enjoy your trip the way you want at least it works for me. Also take the amodium after the trip to get rid of the shits etc... Peace out!!!!

yea I'm talking about the kind of cramps that come on several hrs. in, i'll try the amodium cause the green is a bit scarce lately but if I get my hands on some it sounds like a good solution.

thanks

Hey , I read somewhere that before you trip you should do the following....
(1)Dont drink or eat large amounts of dairy products
(2)Dont eat too much(since your so full..when your tripping your body might make you think your stomach hurts or youre getting stomach cramps but really you just ate too much but the shrooms make it feel so real that youre having stomach cramps etc. and you believe this.

This has happened to me before.one time i had a large milkshake after a big dinner and had about 3 g's of cambo's and i started to get stomach cramps..The next time i tripped off the same cambos,3g's again..I had no stomach problems at all and it was one of my best trips. This is because i hadnt eaten anything about 3 hours prior to munching....

Hope this helps

try eating something light when the cramps come on. they could be a result of you not eating.
chew up the mushrooms better, make tea, or powder them and pack in gelcaps.
if neither of those work, take a few ginger pills, that works for me.

I was gonna sugest that too... Sounds like it could be hunger.

(correct me if I'm wrong, I got all this from a cookey science teacher)
The human body digests all food within 6 hours. No matter how much food you eat no matter how full you are... 6 hours later you'll be looking in the fridge for something to eat again, or you'll at least be feeling hungry. Unless your sleeping, then your digestive system shuts down. -- I like to eat my meal, then waite like 3 or 4 hours, then eat the mushrooms - I eat them with honey or on a piece of bread with peanut butter. I'm not hungry during the trip until the end when I'm able to eat food.

Try peppermint tea - that helps settle my stomach if its feeling wierd as the trip comes up.

Do it like REO speedwagon and ride the storm out. I have a friend that ate some shrooms wiht me and had to sop our conversation a few times to gag and then the fireworks started. We were all messed up though and laughed about it and re felt better afterwards.

Shrooms are hard to digest, this is what I do, and if you do it you won't have a problem again.
I grind the shrooms in a coffee grinder this helps also for proper weight measurements, I take a spoonful at a time, and keep it in mouth in order to salivate a lot, (this will help to brake down the shrooms for digestion), and gulped down with some oj, when you are finished with the shrooms, take 5 or 6 papaya tablets (you can get them at GNC) they have an enzyme that will aid tremendously with a hard digestion, also take 2 ginger tablets (they help digestion and nausea)
They are all healthy and natural.
If the shooms makes you feel like gagging close you’re nose wile eating them.
I had experimented with all different ways to take them and this works the best for me.
Good luck

I have a very sensitive stomach so i know the problem all too well.. Some things i've found to help are: Eating the ground shrooms in capsules or tea (with this method you dont ingest the actual mushrooms); fasting (not just a few hours); eating bits of a dry cracker during the trip; using more potent mushrooms (cyans, azures); stomach pills (zantac for instance). Also avoid too much oj when your stomach is sensitive cause its quite acidic.

Not all these may work for you, actually none of them might, but they did help me.
