I had a such a weird acid trip on Monday.

I woke up and took my girlfriend out to a good breakfast Monday morning to make up for the fact that I'd reached obscene decibel levels with my snoring the night before. We hung out for a bit, smoked some pot, and she left to go home. I decided that, with an afternoon to kill and no work until noon the next day, I could afford to take a trip.

In hindsight, I wish I'd brewed a cup of mushroom tea. But the way things went, I decided to go for a mild LSD trip. I took out my last two hits, and ate one.

I went to the video rental store in search of Fantasia 2000, but their DVD copy was damaged and their VHS copy was mysteriously missing. At this point, 35 minutes after consuming the tab, shit was coming on pretty strong, so I said fuck it and headed home. Once home I rolled myself a skinny joint and put on the Beatles' Rubber Soul.

I was ready for a weird, super-psychedelic trip, but it soon became obvious that my once-powerful white unperfed had lost some potency in my overheated bedroom, since I hadnt been keeping it as well-stored as I usually do. Still a visual trip, things were undulating, and I had some absolutely beautiful closed eye visuals while listening to Radiohead's OK Computer.

But what I did for the bulk of the trip was so weird. For 3 hours I listened to The Wall and some jazz and read the Sunday New York Times cover to cover, skipping the Real Estate and Business sections. I read almsot everything. The words were like alphabet soup, but I still managed to make sense of them.

Who reads the newspaper tripping? Crikey.

Acid really doesn't do it for me these days the way it once did. I'm gonna go on acid hiatus for a few months and then eat a real hefty dose sometime in the summer. Yeh.

I have another Monday off this coming week. Maybe I'll brew a huge cup o tea.

Yeah...I've never even eaten more than three. I've eaten over a hundred total, but never more than 3 at a time.

Thats how it is for me and shrooms. I have eaten them dozens of times...but never more then half of an eighth. each time i have tripped really hard/really enjoyable...i dont know why but that little amount brings me to the moon and back.

That kind of trip leaves me filling totall unfufilled, and that's probably why I haven't tripped in so long. If I do it I wanna do it right, ya know?

But I'll smoke this joint of delicious Blueberry and wonder why you tried to rent Fantasia 2000.

Its funny you say that.

Like you, I read alot. A book every 2 or 3 days, at least. I've always read alot, even as a kid. I've found myself tripping before and reading.

Its not something I plan to do. Like, "Man, lets eat some mushies and get down w/ that new string theory book!" But I've had friends flake out on plans AFTER I've dosed and been stuck at home for 4 hours afraid to leave the house for fear of being stuck in some kind of the strange situations that I always seem to be in whilst tripping. And since reading is more or less my main form of relaxation, I've been known to read a few pages while high.

One time on three hits of LSD I picked up William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, one of my favorite books, and had a ton of fun reading random paragraphs.

seriously OMAR, high doses can be incredibly enjoyable

The stash I have is pretty good, 2-3 hits for a good, solid trip.

I experimented with the lower doses for a while, getting my feet wet, then dove into 5. Blew me away and I didn't trip again for a few months.

Then on New Years I ate 7 (5 gels and 2 of some white unperfed I'd saved from summer) and at one point was enveloped by a sea of energy (blue and black with cracks of white shining through), completely separated from my body and environment. My friends were trying to talk to me, but I was completely unresponsive for I have no idea how long (seemed like seconds).

I probably won't trip again until the weather warms up, but I probably won't have time until either spring break or summer. It's been 6 months or so since I've eaten mush (6.1g last time), and will probably be a good while till I do again.

They really do something to you...
