Get rid of old users

I think you should delete users that have been inactive for, like, more than a year. It's unbelievable how many users are registered that haven't posted a single time. They're hogging hd space and usernames. I say get rid of them.

I tend to disagree. No don't doubt many of these are active users that just don't post, called lurkers. Perhaps they dislike the ugly orange default backround and chose to register so they could have a different backround color. I don't think folks should have their user name deleted unless they request it be done.

It should be relatively easy to set a program to e-mail all the members and then delete those who don't respond.

It will never happen though because unless I miss my guess, being able to show many registered users increases the amount that can be charged for ad prices.

Most old accounts have non working email accounts, so that is a bad idea.

Bad idea? No, because then they'll have to register again and you'll have current e-mail addys.

I think it's the second reason.... ad prices.

MANY people don't keep up with their current email address. When we switched to the new version of UBBThreads, there were many people (regulars to the board) that I had to change their email address.

We are going to charge what we feel is right for ads no matter how many people it says are signed up.

this is the first post 3D that you have made that I agree with you on 100 percent. I still say in ratio of income to ad price you guys are at least 50 percent to low but its your business what you charge.
