user-customized smiley panel?

would it be possible to make it so that each user can customize his/her smiley panel?

let's say i don't like smiley a, b, and c and would never use them. it would be nice to get rid of them, so i have less smileys to wade through when looking for the one i want to find.

I like to use smileys, but there's probably like 50% of them that I would never use.

It's just a pain to sift through 500 whatever smileys to find one I am looking for. I usually don't even use the smiley panel for that reason.. I just type out the smiley names I know best. There's probably only 20 or so I use regularly.

I'm sorry guys, it's not impossible, but it's just too much work for the limited payoff. Eventually I'll do something slick with DHTML and drag-and-drop, but I need a few years to hone my skills first. :wink:

Yes, yes I know I'm adding to an old post, but I had an idea.

Would it be easier to just sort user's smiley's by frequency of use? That way the ones you use most would be ordered first, and the ones you never use would be at the bottom of the list, effectively removing them.

I dunno, write something that logs either each user's clicks in the smiley panel or scans their posts during entry for smiley use, and then orders the smileys in the panel according to number of uses.

At least then you wouldn't have to write a user interface for the interactive addition/deletion.
