he played at roo a couple years back and i thought it was a pretty sucky show. then again i was never a big dylan fan so none of his songs really mean much to me.

i'd like to see tom waits and ryan adams...and i've always wanted to see pearl jam since i was a teenager, but i'm not seeing a whole lot else that i want to see or haven't already seen a number of times.

if there aren't some seriously awesome "artist additions" then it looks like i'll be staying home this year.

The Police. That's sic.

 @ America.  I saw them for free at the state fair a few years back for free. No way I would pay to see them.

wow, that looks terrible in comparison to years past. i mean, some good artists definitely, but dylan is good only for nostalgia nowadays, not headlining a festival like bonnaroo. and, even more so than last year, it seems to have moved even further from what it originally was, into more of a "let's market to every "underground" music taste there is and get all these silly suburban kids who don't know how to behave themselves at a show to come and spend tons of their parents' money"

and no phil, no ratdog, no rhythm devils, no nancy pelosi's house band, no :gd_icon: ?  :nonono:

i hope there is some good east-coast tour in july; i'd like to do that > 10klf > going to kenya. with this tentative lineup, i don't think i'll be trying too seriously to get down to bonnaroo, unless i'd be working

Did you ever go to that Rythem Devils concert in Chi-town? I heard it was badass. My friends that went just recently got engaged. They know Steve Kimmock and are trying to get him to play the wedding.

I'm still not quite sure if I'm going to Bonnaroo this year. I definitely plan on attending next year. But for me this year I plan on doing 10klf and then moedown. If the time and money fits, I might also hit the roo...I had a blast last year and would love to go again this year, but it's a LONG week. It took me a full two months to fully recover from what I did to myself...no sleep the whole festival while tripping balls the whole time (I laid off into sunday morning). Only to drive 17 hours straight home after the phil lesh show. Not a good idea....That's why I'm not sure I want to go again this year. I want to do it right next time and plan a trip down and a trip back up. Take my time and be good and rested before the festival starts.

seriously.  I'm not going without some form of live dead.  I've been to three consecutive roos and loved them all, this may be the year I branch out in my festival attendance.  could be a blessing in disguise

I fully agree. Maybe this year will be the year that we finally go to Gathering of the Vibes. We'll have to see.

I'm glad Pearl Jam won't be there, and glad the police will be. I'm just hoping that Bob Dylan will end up on the lineup. And I've heard a rumor that Allman Bros. will be there too, but its just a rumor. It would be cool though, they're one of my all time favorites.

Man, I really love Bob Dylan, but everyone here is right for the most part. His concerts are hit or miss, but I fucking go whenever I get the chance anyway, if I HAD to name my favorite artist of all time, it might be him, for various reasons aside from the music.

Seen MMW, it's a good live act definitely worth seeing. Same with The Roots (seeing them in Boston in April.) Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are also a good live act, since Victor Wooten is always a good live act.

It'd be cool to say I saw the Police and Willie Nelson. I'd also like to see Modest Mouse I've been digging their stuff lately. And besides Perpetual Groove, I don't really have any interest in seeing the other bands.

So between the acts that I've already seen, and the small amount of acts I want to see, doesn't really seem worth it.
Although I have never been to Bonnaroo, but I think I'll stick with the Newport Jazzfest again, unless the line up sucks as much as last year.

I'm 99% sure I'm going this year (my first year going), regardless of the lineup. Camping + Live Music + Tons of people + Tons of acid = 3 Day Heaven in my opinion.

I'd be willing to bet the cost of a ticket that you'll find more RC's than real cid there this year.

i am definatly not going to bonnaroo.

my best friend is going with a bunch of douche bag kids that are far from feeling the love. I figure that the place will be full of people like this. I went to wakarusa last year with these folks. I didn't like them there... I def wouldn't like them at roo.

I am not crazy about the lineup either. 10KLF is where it is at. I will probably hit at least one more festival up besided this one. Other than that I think I am going to spend the majority of the summer camping and eating acid in the woods.
