Nope it's not all drama.

I do have some respect for the bands and small businesses taking advantage of the free publicity. They are not about online drama and social status. They are about the money. Whats wrong with that?

Sheesh, try to look at the good side of things. Don't use myspace, stop complaining, and use your email/phone. I don't see why you're so upset about people being petty and egocentric. That goes on in the real world, too.

Dude I've gone to see bands that I would never have known about if it weren't for myspace... After talking to the guys after the show, it turns out they're all fucking starving and barely have enough money to make it to the next town, and aren't even sure whose couch they're going to be sleeping on that night...

Throw away your stereotypes man... we're not all money/attention-hungry whores in this world.

Yes... I agree myspace is fucking gay... but the good it has done for the world of music/keeping in touch with friends is pretty fuckin awesome if you ask me...

Maybe I find emails and telephone to be fucking gay... you know? I'd much rather click someone's picture and send them a message than try to dig up their phone number/email...

The thing is... we all have the choice to participate or not... and you choose not to... so that's great. Good for you. But that makes you no better than anyone who chooses to use it. Just like drugs. Just like gay sex... whatever... the world is full of many choices that you can opt out of... but bashing the people who make those choices is like saying "look at me, i'm cooler than you.." which is exactly what you were bashing in the first place now wasn't it?

MySpace has it's problems, and personally I'd never make one for myself.





That being said, it's a great help for musicians & other artists trying to get their work out to the masses and network with more established artists.

I didn't say i was cooler then anyone. I just said that i am not so concerned about my social status. I would not be on the shroomery bragging about how many people visited my MySpace.

With email you don't have to dig anything up. Unless you were stupid enough to not save your friends email in the address book. As far as phone numbers, all my true friends are stored up in my head, and even some that i don't really like. You can be on the phone for five minutes, and still exchange the same information that would take you hours to type, and wait for responses.

Did you not read my post about the bands? I got mo problem with them. They are trying to survive, not brag about social status on MySpace.

-PS why are email and telephones gay? This telephone invention seems to be doing pretty well the last 100 or so years.

I don't hate MySpace, i just think that it should be seperated from the Shroomery as discussion topics. I think they will waste more space then get attention here. At least if you were to compare it to actually posting on Myspace instead.
