phone conversation recording

was wondering what would be the best/easties way to record phone conversatons on the computer? cacn i just use normal phone? if so can i do it through a broadband modem?

if not possible whats something that is not overlypriced hardware that i could connect to the phone?

RadioShack has had various telephone recording devices. They are made to plug into regular tape recorders. They'll have a regular sized jack and a mini-DIN which turns the recorder on and off. I would guess that you should be able to connect these to the 'in' of your sound card and that way you would be able to set your computer to record (though you'd lose the functionality of automatically turning the recording on and off).

There are probably better ways of doing this but that would be one way.

If you buy a decent modem card for your computer there used to be software out there that can record it, if you ever used dial up and tried to dial-on while someone was on the phone you can hear voices ~_^. IF it must me on your computer (You are publishing prank phone calls you sly dog you) that would be a viable solution.
