broadband connection LAN

I recently upgraded from dial-up to a broadband cable connection. My original plan was to network my home PC's and then connect them all to the net. The problem is, after subscribing I found out that my subscription is for one PC only, and that adding additional PC's cost more.
My question is, can my ISP tell if I'm connecting a LAN behind a router instead of a single PC?

I dont know if they can tell or not - maybe - but I doubt they care. Alot of people are on networks. I think the higher subcription cost means an additional direct hookup, not a network. You'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure they can't and even if they can I doubt they really care. I have the same policy with my isp and I have 6 computers connected.

Get a router...A router makes it look like one computer is connected whilst sharing throught that router as a "gateway" for the other computers to the internet
So the ISP can never be able to see after that router...The router is it's own mini computer that routes the incoming connection...You'll be able to set up a LAN dependent on how many ports/computers the router supports...If you want more computers than the router supports you'll have to buy secondary routers and set the first as a "bridge" and then you'll be able to add hubs in between the first and second routers

THey cannont tell. Just buy a router, hook-up the computers you want to connect to it and your set. that extra cost is for a "home-lan connection package" Garbage!@ your set = go for it
