Yea exactly, if you are gonna get a tat, get something that is killer artwork. after all it takes 1000's of dollars to get them removed if you hate them later anyway.
I am not against body art, but if you are going to get some, think it out for a long time first.

I personally don't have any tattoos but whatever, if he likes the way it looks and what it stands for then he should get it. Who cares what other people think. And even if your getting it because you think other people will like it and that makes you happy, then so be it.

I don't have any tattoos, I'm a little scared i wont like it later and a little paranoid, seems to me every time you get arrested they document all identifiable marks, tattoos, scars, etc.

So just hope some Asian chick doesn't get mugged or some shit and then says,

"yes, I remember he had the symbol for peace on his wrist, AND HE WAS A WHITE GUY!! ::sob, sob sob::"

lol, just screwing around man, thats just my excuse for not getting one because I'm a big pussy, and broke for that matter, shit does scare me though, that would be some horrible luck.

Get it though if you like it.

I think someone here once posted a pic of a tattoo they had that said "A Japanese Symbol." That's the only Japanese symbol tattoo I ever liked.

I have a female friend that got the Japanese symbol for beauty tattooed on her shoulder blade. The only reason I think that it's fitting is because she's kinda pretty and she is Japanese .

It's not the thing about it being another language that bugs me. I personally plan to get the name of God(YHVH) in Hebrew as part of a larger tat, and I could also understand someone getting a Hindu mantra written in Sanskrit. The problem I have with the Japanese/Chinese symbols people get is the stupid meanings they have, like "love" or "happiness." Great, so you like love or you're happy. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo! I would have no problem with someone getting something more meaningful written in Japanese or Chinese. It's the meaninglessness of most of these tattoos that gets me.

My wife has a Japanese dragon from the top of her back all the way down to her ass. you can tell its Japanese because of the number of toes. There is some reason they all have different colors and shapes but she knows this as she is half Japanese.
