Salvia Plant Deformation

A few weeks ago my plant grew deformed leaves. This is from two weeks ago.


Anyone know what it means?

a lot of mine have been producing those small, round leaves too

and I know the rH in my apt. is between 21 and 33% depending on the weather outside.

but maybe somebody else will chime in for a more thorough explanation

dont worry so much dude! plants will survive somehow. infact, salvia are part of the mint family. those plants will fuckin grow insanly fast no matter what. (as long as you water, give them light and some fertz.) i have 2 mother salvia and 12 cuttings. and when spring rolls around, my mothers can alreayd produce at least 12 more cuttings. easy shit to grow!

In my experience salvia gets deformed leaves by: too much water, too little air refreshment, lack of nutes, too little light and too little height.

IMO Salvia needs the factors right before shooting up in the air.

Most deformations that i have noticed come from damage to the young leaves, this can be either from a burn, low humidity or even accidental tearing of the plant when handling.

i noticed on my plant when a young leaf's tip dried out and kept growing, it would make that heart shape that your plant has, i also had leaves grow that were ROUND.

this can also be a mutation, ive seen it happen on more than one of my plants, it seems salvia likes to change the shape of its leaves as it ages. :P



notice the rounded leaves on BOTH plants towards the top.
