WTF is wrong with some of you!!!!!!

I was going to bump an old thread I was reading but I decided to avoid being labeled a "fucking douche" I would just respond to something I couldn't ignore and post a new topic.

1. Do you like drum circles?, have you ever been to one??
I personally cant wait to get a Djembe, I have been thinking about it for months!

Whats wrong , he isn't pumping him full of drugs? I cant believe you would be that ignorant about the powerful effects music can have. Obviously you have never been to a drum circle, or even heard a song of any kind before.


And whats with all these people saying they wouldn't be caught dead at a drum circle?? Are people that fucking worried about how they might appear to others?
By hanging with so called "hippies"?

NEWSFLASH, once you LEAVE high school, your cool :sun:, and if you don't think you are, then your not. :smirk: Who do you have to prove anything to??

The saddest part is I think allot of this might come down to clothes, and not lifestyle, hippies don't wear brand name shit. And they don't dress to impress, unless you count being creative and unique, making your own clothes etc.....
So by being seen with a hippie drum circle some of you feel you will look stupid? Or what, you don't like hanging out in the park smoking cannabis and drumming? Sorry I just don't get where people are coming from on this.

Personally you would never think I'm a hippie, cause I dress casual, and wear "normal" clothes, but I buy them at the thrift store cause I am not a sucker, and I hang out with everyone, be they punk, hippie, or whatever, EVEN Wiggers.
(but I will admit I can only stand the wiggers that dress like wiggers..... not the ones that act like wiggers :wink: ) 

Sorry, but I don't get it, come out of your fucking shells, sit down, smoke some herb and hit the drum, :heart: :thumbup: you just might thank me. :wink: Drumming is quite old , thousands of years old perhaps, and it can put you in a trance state that cant be topped by cynical hippie bashing. :smile: TRY IT. Ok, these are just words on a screen, ok thats it. When I say I want to shake some of these people and say what the fuck is wrong with you, thats an exaggeration. To make a point. I'm being critical of the idea that music can't help therapy.

And the idea that going to a drum circle is lame, or uncool etc. I am poking at those that don't go yes, but my intentions are good, and I wasn't mean at all.

I am also hoping that people who ENJOY drum circles will post, basically I want to get a drum circle thread going, cause, well, I LOVE drumming. I also love to play guitar, keyboards, bass etc etc..... But ever since I sat down and played a Djembe I have not been able to get that beautiful experience out of my mind.

So NO, I don't think I was being harsh. Look at my post from a different angle(so to speak) realize I am not incredibly serious about everything I said and I think you will understand my intention. I just wanted to get a good thread going. But for now I shall sleep, and let this thread incubate without me.

drum circler from venice, ca and ggp in san fran. who the fuck thinks these things are lame?? i always take people here and they love kickin it. we just drank, or smoke, or go on acid, hell, even sober, but everyone i know loves a good drum circle. no, im not a hippie. i didnt think you could hate a drum circle. meh, im working the graveyard right now, my brain is all screwy.

Dude your post isn't making any sense. I think you should have bumped the old thread. You are obviously pissed about something you read in it and are trying to make a reference to it in this thread.

I can see where using music as a form of therapy may be helpful for some people, but to claim that music therapy can help everyone is simply retarded, and unprofessional.

Without music I would not be alive today.

Drum circles saved my life. Are a source of creativity, inspiration, and stress-release. As well as 500 other things. Amazing.

As for therapy, where did I say music is a cure all, I just dont like the idea that its unprofessional. Why because its not institutional psychiatry?? Because its not Xanex?

I find this absorb when I consider the powerful effect music has on peoples lives, sure music therapy wont help all, but I think its silly to claim its "unprofessional" and if it is viewed that way, thats something that has to change.

Pissed? I'm not pissed or angry, I'm just curious as to what people think about drum circles, and maybe even also the theraputic potential of music. Theses are words, just text, you dont know how I feel.

Well I seem to remember you saying more then that, I agree its not all human activity as well, but the vast majority of the problems is, and from what I REMEMBER, you dont. And I have to admit, it felt damn good to say what I did.

Blindly?? I just think music is powerful and can be used in therapy, again, I didn't attack anyone, or say "this is the truth mother fuckers, so believe it" I have an opinion about music therapy. And let me ask you, do you volunteer at your local Psych ward?? I do. And I have seen music have powerful effects on peoples lives.
