In Seattle, it's about two grades below a jaywalking offense. I personally don't know of anyone who's been busted for just weed here in at least ten years. A few teenagers I know have had their weed dumped out, but that's because the cop knew they were smoking it and driving. Our voters here made pot the lowest priority of the police department. That's the law.

just so happens I became a victim to the system last week.. I got caught with about a gram. got handcuffed and put on the sidewalk face down. they took me to the station where they had me sit in a room while they tallied up my bill, which came to $400, then sent me packing. court is optional.

this is the result of me not smoking for a year and deciding randomly to start up again. reason why i don't believe in karma. unless i'm doing a lot of harm somewheres i don't know about.

To be honest, you run a roughly 50/50 chance provided you dont have more then a gram or 2 and you are honest and not a dickhead to the cop.


Some cops are just assholes and will just give you a ticket/arrest you no matter what. Others will cut you some slack if you dont waste their time, are polite and truthful.


That is if you have a gram or a joint. Not if you have a 1/4 oz.

I been let go more times then i got booked. I did get booked a couple times but I been smoking in public since i was 14. If they got nothing better to do they will bust you. If they are real people with hearts they will let you go with a warning. Most cops understand that weed is the lesser evil on this earth and that it's a bum rap.

i've known people who have have been let go with a warning for having some weed, and i know a guy who was charged for three seeds that were found on the floor of his car. it really just depends on the cop, and how badly he wants to bust you.

it's easier to catch a break living in a city then in a small town though, that's for sure. city cops have real crime to deal with, while small town cops have nothing better to do then bust drug users and write speeding tickets. in fact, i'm pretty sure some of them get hard ons when they seen a teenager walking down the street at night.
