Gay Is Good

Pubbers, how about returning the word Gay to its homosexual origins, instead of using "gay" to mean "uncool" as if we're a bunch of highschool kids?

It's a trend I notice in the past two months or so that "this or that is gay" is on the rise. It seems like shroomery members are getting younger and younger still, and on top of that we're a community which includes homosexuals too, some of whom perhaps bored by the steady stream of casual disrespect. It's not about approving or disapoproving of homosexuality, it's about juvenile use of the word starting to eclipse its meaning in the adult world.

Too true. Whenever I hear someone describe a situation as being gay, it doesn't offend me or anything similar. It makes me wonder if that person is a little to thick too use any creative adjectives.

Well, among adults "gay" either tends to mean "homosexual" or "happy", whereas teens tend to mean that it is something they don't like.
With adult world I meant the world of adults, not the adult industry LOL.

Amazing to see such thread vandalism and flames emerge so soon. I've let the flames stand unedited, but the two comedians ofcourse got a token Pub ban for it.

There's no flaming in the Pub, even not when people feel entitled to do so because the matter deals with minorities.
