The Canal St. NYC Subway Station. Hands down the worst smell on earth.

The worst things I ever smelled:

-milk, rotten
-milk-induced cat diarroea
-Hydrogen sulfide
-a rotting mouse

the worst of these was the cat diarroea. That is so vile, there's no describing. I'm not even mentioning rancid butter because, allthough quite a stench, it reminds me of french cheese so that makes it less shocking. The above four can have me retch at the first whiff though.

The trash compactor at the grocery store I used to work at. We'd toss expired dairy products and produce in there, where it would sit, cooked by the sun in the giant steel box for up to a month. Awful.

100 pounds of elk meat in the freezer after the freezer was unplugged....didn't open the freezer for about 3 months, and when we did, I instantly threw up in my mouth. I can assure you, that 100 pounds of meat that has been rotting for 3 months is less than pleasant.

Instead of trying to get rid of the smell, I figured it was more prudent to just get rid of the freezer altogether.

The worst thing that I have ever smelled? It would probably have been  this decomp of some animal that had been sitting in water for god knows how long. That, or this potato soup that I had let sit covered on my stove for about 2 weeks. Man, that shit made me almost throw up. I never let food sit out, but this had been forgotten about. Cleaning that shit out was not fun. :argh:

my grandma was dead, the house smelled horrible.




edit: i change my decision the worst smell ever was when my friend was so drunk that he shit his pants when i was helping him to his room....that WAS the worst smell ever experienced

The worst smell that i can think of has to be puke, thats soaked into someones car seats and then baked in the sun for a week or so.

Pyridine.

Pyridine is like someone's idea of a tasteless joke. It seems like concentrated, synthetic dead fish smell. It's horrid.
