Could This be Cobweb?
    #628576 - 05/13/02 02:33 AM (21 years, 4 months ago)

A day or two ago I cased some trays. One of them has some wierd shit going on. There are places that I can for sure say is mycelium coming through the surface. But on like one spot of the casing there is this very light colored stringy stuff. It looks almost like a small spider web. It isn't a very dense growth or anything. I put on some latex gloves that I had sterilized and I touched it and it stuck to the gloves like a spider web too. So maybe a spider thought that he might be funny and try to pull a fast one on me or it could be a contam. If it is a contam could it be cobweb? Or something else? I haven't tryed to do anything to stop it because I'm not sure what it is. It might just be wierd mycelial growth that I have not seen before. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Peace,
StainBlue

man, i had the same problem last week and was livid about losing 4 large casings to cobweb. as a last resort, i mixed 3% H2O2 with water 1:1 and sprayed the shit out of them. As of today, I have 64 first flush pins in one casing alone! needless to say....i am ecstatic. hope this helps. i'm not a master at this yet, just relaying what worked for me.
